Trenchless Sewer Repair


This method of trenchless sewer repair is the Deformed Polyethylene Pipe Sewer Rehabilitation System. This work was performed in Baldwin Borough, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, under the Miscellaneous Sanitary Sewer Lining Contract.

Willett Drive- Liner installation process taking place from Manhole 506 to Manhole 507 - total of 383' of existing sewer re-lined and 7 service lines re-connected.

 


Equipment used for television inspection and video taping of existing sewer line and 
prior to, and post installation of polyethylene liner.


Monitor and control center.

 


Chain knocker, the instrument used to clear the existing line of roots and debris.


Robotic Cutter, this instrument is used to re-connect the service lines without excavation.

Manhole 506

Manhole 506 to 507 ( above two photos ) totaled 383' of existing sewer re-lined.

Steam and air pressure are used so that the Deformed Polyethylene Liner is reformed to the diameter of the existing line, then after the post curing phase of the process is completed, the service lines, 7 on this section, are re-connected using the robotic cutter.
